Biography

Vondell Richmond is a seasoned coach, business professional, and trainer living in Clarksville, Tenn. Sales, marketing, and leadership has been Vondell’s bread and butter for more than 80% of his career. During his 10-year coaching and professional speaking tenure, Vondell has trained and facilitated programs for Landmark Worldwide, Wingman Coaching, Austin Peay State University’s SBDC (Small Business Development Center), The Zeigler Leadership Forum, Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace, and Clarksville Entrepreneur Center’s Co.Starters program, a 9 Week small business incubator.

Vondell has ranked in the top 1% of sales teams he’s been part of, and officially received training on the Sandler Selling System, Tony Robbins Mastering Influence, “Using NLP in Sales & Business,” and “Free Sessions That Sell” by Christen Mickelson, just to name a few. He is also a certified trainer of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), TimeLine Therapy, and Hypnotherapy, as well as an NLP Practitioner, Master Practitioner, NLP Coach and Hypnotherapist.

Corporately Vondell has worked for Coca-Cola, Footlocker, Career Education Corporation, Gibbs College, Berkeley College, McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, Crossroads Theater, Momentum Worldwide, and Oscar Health.

As a first-generation college student, Vondell is a proud alumni of North Carolina A&T State University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in acting/directing. While at A&T State, Vondell was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, Who’s Who Among Colleges & Universities, Alpha Psi Omega National Theater Honor Society, and won “Regional Best Actor” honors at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

In addition, Vondell is a licensed REALTOR® and member of Clarksville Association of Realtors (CAR). A former BNI member and minority-certified business owner, he strongly supports and is an advocate for women, minority, and veteran businesses, as he seeks to raise the quality of life for residents of Tennessee.

A Few Highlights

Born in Oklahoma, raised in Alabama, Vondell went from homelessness to holding a key to the City of Clarksville, Tenn.

Vondell is an award-winning actor, director, and screenwriter, having performed in over 45 theatrical productions. His film Sophisticated Romance won several film festivals, and when he’s not doing film, you can catch him doing stand-up comedy, which is a childhood passion of his.

As a college adjunct, Vondell taught “College Celebrity,” a leadership course he developed during his 12-year tenure with the Department of Africana Studies at Rutgers University.

Something to Think About

Vondell loves leading a faith-based filmmakers’ group and enjoys teaching the core-values class for new members at his church. In addition, he currently leads “Start & GROW,” an online community helping employees who have put their dreams on hold build a life they love beyond their day job.

Vondell serves as City Councilman of Ward 2 in Clarksville, which was voted Money Magazine’s Best Place to Live in 2019. In his role as an elected official, Vondell’s mission is to see everyone win at life.
